The House-Museum of A. Baitursynov was returned to Almaty

Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Mayor of the metropolis, made an appropriate decision in order to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the outstanding educator.

During a working tour, B. Sagintayev visited the House and Museum of A. Baitursynova. The Mayor of the city announced the decision to transfer the House-Museum from a public fund to communal ownership.

“Next year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding educator A. Baitursynova. In preparation for the anniversary, the House-Museum, where the public figure lived, was returned to the city's ownership. His legacy will be safely preserved,” B. Sagintayev.

The museum building, built in the early 20th century, is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of National Importance. The total area of the building is 160 square meters.

The museum was founded in 1993 and officially opened in 1998. The museum contains about 500 materials about the life and work of A. Baitursynova.
